Two modes cover almost every splitting need. Page range mode extracts exact pages — "1-3", "5", "7-9" — which is perfect for pulling one chapter or one invoice out of a document. Equal chunk mode cuts the file into pieces of N pages each, which is what you want when a long scan needs to be filed or emailed in parts.

Page range syntax is forgiving: 1,3,5-7 works, and so does 1-3,5,7-9. The tool also warns you if a range falls outside the document.
